Grocery & Shelf-Stable Food FBA Prep
Amazon treats food as a high-risk category, and the prep requirements reflect that. Dates have to be right, packaging has to be sealed, and stock arriving with too little shelf life is refused outright. We prep shelf-stable grocery at our Ozone Park, Queens warehouse to those requirements.
What Amazon requires for food
- An expiration date on the individual unit and on the outer case
- A clearly legible date, printed large enough to read without magnification
- Enough remaining shelf life at the point the unit reaches the fulfillment center
- Sealed packaging, so the unit is demonstrably untampered
- Poly bagging where a unit could otherwise be contaminated in handling
Food requirements change more often than most โ the current version lives in Seller Central.
How we handle it
We check dates on receipt, before anything is labeled, and tell you about short-dated stock while you can still do something about it. Units are labeled with FNSKU, poly bagged where required, and forwarded to your assigned fulfillment center โ usually within 24 to 48 hours of receiving.
We prep shelf-stable products only. Refrigerated and frozen goods need cold-chain storage we do not operate, and we will tell you that rather than take the shipment.
