Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) prep is not the same job as Amazon FBA prep, even though the physical steps look similar. WFS will not accept an Amazon FNSKU as a unit identifier — every sellable unit needs a scannable 12-digit UPC or 14-digit GTIN on its own packaging, and the barcode has to sit on the unit itself, never on the outer case. Sellers who run both marketplaces from the same inventory pool need a prep partner who keeps the two label sets separate and applies the correct one to the correct channel’s cartons.

Running Amazon FBA and Walmart WFS from one inventory pool
Multi-channel sellers commonly split one supplier shipment two ways after receiving: one batch gets FNSKU labels for Amazon FBA prep and FNSKU labeling, the other gets UPC/GTIN verification for WFS. We track that split at receiving so units never cross-label, and forward each batch to the correct destination on its own carton manifest.

Do you accept FNSKU labels for Walmart WFS shipments?
No. Walmart WFS requires a scannable 12-digit UPC or 14-digit GTIN on every sellable unit and does not accept FNSKUs, EANs, or vendor SKUs as the primary identifier. We verify or reprint compliant barcodes before your units ship.
Where does the barcode go on a WFS unit?
